Job Title: Worship Music Leader (Sundays)

We are seeking an energetic and inspiring Worship Music Leader to guide our congregation’s musical worship experience every other Sunday. This vital role involves leading engaging and heartfelt musical worship that uplift, inspire, and foster a sense of community. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for worship, strong leadership skills, and the ability to create an inviting atmosphere where everyone feels encouraged to participate. As a Worship Music Leader, you will play a key role in shaping the spiritual experience through music, fostering connection, and nurturing the musical talents within our congregation.

Work Schedule:

  • Every 1st & 3rd Sundays.

  • Planning and rehearsals as scheduled.

  • Approximately 7 hours every 2 weeks (4 hours on service weeks and 3 hours on non-service weeks).

Hours per year / FTE: 169 hours per year / 0.08 FTE

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Sunday worship services, on assigned days, with enthusiasm, ensuring a seamless flow of musical elements that enhance the overall worship experience.

  • Select and rehearse songs that align with the service themes, incorporating contemporary and traditional worship music styles.

  • Collaborate with pastors and ministry teams to coordinate music selections that support sermon messages and spiritual goals.

  • Mentor and develop volunteer musicians and singers, encouraging growth in their musical abilities and confidence.

  • Foster a welcoming environment that promotes participation from all attendees, regardless of musical skill level.

  • Communicate effectively with team members to plan rehearsals and address any technical or logistical needs.

Experience:

  • Leadership experience in leading worship or musical groups within a faith-based or community setting.

  • Strong teaching skills with the ability to mentor musicians and vocalists of varying skill levels.

  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with staff, volunteers, and congregation members.

  • Experience in selecting appropriate worship music that resonates with diverse audiences.

  • Ability to inspire enthusiasm and foster teamwork among volunteer musicians and singers.

  • Familiarity with sound equipment operation and basic audio troubleshooting is preferred.

Position Type: Part-time

Salary Range: $35.70 - $50.00 per hour / $6,604 - $9,250 per year

It is the policy of Redeemer Lutheran Church to provide adequate compensation for services rendered and to ensure equity in basic compensation. Compensation determinations will be made in accordance with the Saint Paul Area Synod Salary and Compensation Guidelines and market factors.

This is a non-exempt (hourly) position.
