10:00am | Meeting and Program

Redeemer Lutheran Church, Atrium (3770 Bellaire Ave, White Bear Lake, MN 55110)

Guest Speaker:  Gary Schroeher, Environmental Consultant

Environmental protection in the community begins with small, everyday actions that collectively make a big difference. By reducing waste, conserving water, energy, and choosing sustainable products, all of us can help preserve natural resources and reduce pollution. Local initiatives such as tree and native flower planting events, neighborhood cleanups, and recycling programs encourage people to work together toward a healthier environment. Through shared efforts, neighborhoods can build cleaner, greener, and more sustainable places to live.

Gary Schroeher is a member of Redeemer, and is a member of White Bear Lake’s Environmental Advisory Commission, served on the Ramsey Washington Watershed Citizens Advisory Committee, is a Ramsey County Recycling Ambassador, worked for the MPCA in the 80’s, and has been an environmental consultant for 35 years.

The ingredients for the cake are simple: eggs, butter, sugar, salt.   Look closer though, and you’ll see the essence of life itself. Every year, Ernestine bakes a cake and celebrates with her family on her birthday - a delicious ritual that unfolds onstage across 90 years of birthdays. We meet Ernestine and the people who sweeten her life every year on this day as she grows from 17 to 107 years old.  Through glimpses of her life, “Birthday Candles” tenderly explores motherhood, family, love, loss and finding your place in the universe.

Guest speaker John Solomon

Join us as we meet and learn about John Solomon's life above the Arctic circle delivering behavioral healthcare to remote Inupiaq villages. John will share the story of the last seven years shaped by extreme weather, distance, limited resources, and what some of the most remote communities taught him about care and humility.

John Solomon, LPC, is a behavioral health leader and educator whose work has ranged from bush-plane travel into Alaska Native villages above the Arctic Circle to statewide behavioral health systems leadership. He is focused on practical community solutions that hold up when resources are limited and the needs are real. He now lives in Minnesota with his family.
