Redeemer Book Club News

The final meeting for the year for our Redeemer Book Club will meet on Tuesday, June 13th at 7 pm. We will spend the first half of an hour discussing our book suggestions for the next year. We would love your input to insure a great selection of great books.

We hope that you join us as we end the year with an interesting book of a pair of twins that live extremely different lives.

In this novel, twin black sisters choose different paths - one acknowledges the life of a black woman in her hometown and the other due to her very fair skin claims to be a white woman and her husband doesn’t even know about her true heritage. Secrets always are difficult to keep. Looking well beyond issues of race, The Vanishing Half considers the lasting influence of the past as it shapes a person's decisions, desires, and expectations, and explores some of the multiple reasons and realms in which people sometimes feel pulled to live as something other than their sibling.
